MLP: FiM (Abbreviated from "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" was first aired on October 10, 2010 on the Hub. This generation of MLP was created by Lauren Faust, who was a fan of the older My Little Pony generations, but was unsatisfied with it's poor writing that she believed was stereotyping girls. Thus, Faust made her own design of the MLP generation, reaching not only girls around the globe, but grown men and women who refer themselves as "Bronies and Pegasisters".
It was not intended to reach the "Bronies and Pegasisters", But due to the mashups, images and videos that are fan made from the fandom, especially seen on YouTube and DeviantArt, it has reached teenagers from ages 13+. Gameloft has also made their own My Little Pony app called Friendship is Magic mobile game which was released on November 8, 2012. This app has followed the story of "Nightmare Moon" . Helping Twilight Sparkle save Equestria from Nightmare Moon, gathering all the Elements of Harmony along the way. The app also includes side quests, For example: The Royal Wedding, which helps Princess Cadence save her wedding from Queen Chrysalis and the Changelings. It also has mini games, the "Crystal Mine" for example, helps you gather element shards and collect coins for the game itself. Also, there are games that can help you raise your ponies stats or stars.
Along the fandom, there are comic books that follow the storyline of the series. This wasn't made by the real Lauren Faust herself but by Katie Cook and Andy Price, the comic book series had began its publication in November, 2012. The first issue was made by early October and had already gained 90,000 pre-orders, making it a best seller comic series for that month.
On June 16, 2013, the MLP movie: My Little Pony: Equestria Girls was limited to 200 theaters across the United States, following with a region 1 DVD which was released on August 6, 2013, then followed with the Hub Network television premiere on September 1, 2013. The plot for the film has one of the main pony characters trying to pursue a thief through an inter dimensional portal and finds herself as a humanized version of herself in a Western human society populated by her friends and acquaintances as humans as well. On September 27, 2014, My Little Pony: Rainbow Rocks was released to theaters across the United States and Canada. The plot for this film has the same main pony from Equestria Girls coming back to the human world, summoned by a friend through a magical book. Entering a battle of the bands to see which band will reach the top, but due to three mysterious girls who seem to lure people under a spell, almost breaking the girls' friendship. An Untitled My Little Pony Feature Film was announced to be shown sometime in 2017, having the script written by Joe Ballarini with Meghan McCarthy as co-producer.
